A brand needs a face! A spokesperson. It needs a face, not a logo. A logo is outdated.
I was thinking about Tai Lopez today. I seen him on Facebook, and I was thinking about something Dame Dash says a lot. If you a boss, what do you own??
And when I thought of Tai, I know his face very well and associate it with baller status. But what does he own? What does Tai Lopez have his name on? I can’t attach Tai’s name to any business at all. What business does Tai run? And that’s the thing, he doesn’t run anything! He is just a salesman. He sells vision, he sells inspiration and motivation. His only product is a book called the 67 steps to success. He’s just a genius marketer WHO GLUED HIS FACE TO THE IMAGE OF SUCCESS. He didn’t even NEEEEEED a business logo. He didn’t need a business for the logo. He just needed his face. And now, even though there is no logo…. BECAUSE THERE IS NO BUSINESS FOR THE LOGO, it’s JUST HIMSELF, every time he posts a SELFIE, he gets money. Now the important thing here is, it’s hard to post a logo and have people relate with it, to like it, to enjoy it for what it is AND have a product that they like. Logos are booooring. Seen it once, seen it a million times. Snapchat did it with billboards and it worked for a while.
But Tai can attend events, he can get his face (his logo) in a pic with Kevin Hart, WITHOUT PAYING KEVIN TO WEEEEAAARRRR the logo. It’s free promotion whenever he posts a pic. He gets a video with Jimmy Kimmel and he gets money for that.
Again, he can post 20 selfies a day. ALLL Different. All exciting with a new emotion. A new hook point, a new sales point.
In 2018 logos are outdated and you need to pick a face for your brand. AND MAKE THEM SELL IT! Sell sell sell.
